Restart your phone.

Clear the cache

Clearing the cache makes your app feel fresh, like new, and with clearing the cache, you should clear the data as well to make it run flawlessly.
You should note that this method comes with consequences.
Clearing the cache will not make any significant impact on your phone, but clearing data will erase your data from Play Store and don’t worry, this means it will log you out and reset the settings.
Log in once again, and you’re good to go.
Following are the steps to clear cache and data.
- Go to Settings and navigate to Apps & notifications or search for Google Play Services.
- You will see the icon select Google Play services.
- Click on the storage option, then press Clear cache.
The Google play store updates automatically in the background, and during these updates, there are chances that updates can go wrong and cause problems in your application.
This is the reason you need to uninstall the updates and bring them to the factory defaults.
Once the uninstalling updates process is done, your phone will force itself to update google play services automatically.

- Go to phone Settings, search for Google Play services.
- Navigate to the top-right corner of your screen and tap the three-dot icon. Choose Uninstall updates and done.
Reset app preferences
This step can be performed if the problem exists even after you change the system setting.
Resetting app preferences will affect Google Play Services’ performance.
The reason is Google Play Services has its own core system files and resetting it may affect its performance. Therefore, try to reset app preferences on your phone.
Resetting app preferences will reset all disabled apps, notification restrictions, default apps, background data restrictions, and permissions restrictions.
Please Note: You will not lose your existing app data if you reset app preferences.

Set the date and time
Simple things like the wrong date and time can cause a big problem in your Google Play Services. Sometimes due to hurry or any other reasons, we miss the date and time setting, and it creates problems for us.
New smartphones don’t have such problems, but still, you face any follow these steps.
If the date and time on your phone is incorrect, you must fix this issue and see how it affects your Google Play Services.
To set the date and time on your Android smartphone, you can follow the steps below.
- Go to settings and navigate to the system or use search.
- There you will see the Date & Time option. Tap to switch the toggle that indicates your date and time will be set automatically.
- In case the toggle is already on, tap to turn it off and tap again to turn it off.

Incorrect date and time can cause so many issues that are related to app syncing, and it can affect the app performance.
Update your phone
Fresh software updates breathe new life into your smartphone.
Most importantly, try to update your phone if the problem still exists. Software updates include so many benefits to your phone, it fixes so many app bugs that could be causing the problem.
This may be the last thing that you want to do if you have any pending updates, please install them. Some of us think that updating our smartphone will change the previous app settings, but that is not the case.
