- OnePlus Lite
- OnePlus 8 Pro
OnePlus 8 and 8 Lite might have a 6.4-inch 90hz fluid AMOLED display with a hole-punch design. The OnePlus 8 Pro might feature a 120hz refresh panel. OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro should be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 865 SOC and DDR5 RAM along with UFS 3.0.
OnePlus 8 will use the E2 super AMOLED display. We might see OnePlus 8 Lite with MediaTek Dimensity 1000 Chipset.
What about Ip Certification and battery performance?
We have been receiving water resistance devices from OnePlus since OnePlus 5, and they didn’t put the IP rating because it increases the price tag up to $30 per unit. This was the reason behind not to put the IP rating, but now people are willing to see the actual water rating on their devices.
Now we have some leaks that show OnePlus might put the IP ratings to its upcoming smartphones this year. One more thing to notice is that Wireless Charging and every OnePlus fans were asking for it, and now some leaks suggest there could be a more expensive variant that includes the wireless charging.
As per the rumors, the Ip certification for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Lite could be Ip53. That’s a bit disappointing. OnePlus should have gone with Ip68 instead of Ip53.
OnePlus could bring a new battery and charge technology to this line-up. As far as the battery capacity goes, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Lite will have 4000 MAH battery with warp charger 30T. OnePlus 8 Pro is suggested to have a 4500 MAH battery with a super warp charger, and it can charge the phone 100% within 35-40 minutes.
Are we going to see any significant changes in terms of the cameras?
OnePlus 8 could be having Sony IMX 686 sensor with 64 MP as a primary camera with 12 MP 2X Optical zoom and 16 MP wide-angle camera setup. To up the selfie game, OnePlus is adding 32 MP selfie camera in the hole-punch display. OnePlus 8 Lite will have IMX 586 sensor and 48 MP primary camera 12 MP zoom lens and 16 MP wide-angle camera and 32 MP selfie camera.
OnePlus 8 Pro will have Sony IMX 686 64 MP primary camera 12 MP image sensor with up to 10x zoom and 16 MP wide-angle camera and a TOF sensor.
OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a 32 MP selfie camera. The cameras on this phone will have some great features due to its Snapdragon 865 chipset.
The Snapdragon 865 comes with the Spectra 480 ISP, which consists of Gigapixels speed technology, which can capture photos up to 2 Gigapixels per second.
Storage and RAM capacity?
When it comes to the RAM and storage capacity, the company never fails to disappoint us. OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be having two options for RAM and storage capacity. 8 GB / 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, and in terms of the storage capacity, these phones could support up to 128 GB and 265 GB UFC based storage. OnePlus lite could support 8 GB RAM and 128 GB / 265 GB storage options.
Do we have any insights in terms of the chipsets?
OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will support Snapdragon 865 SOC with LPDDR5 mobile DRAM, which will maximize the capability of 5G and AI features in these phones. All these phones will be coming with Dual Mode 5G connectivity. The next generation of cellular connectivity 5G will bring faster and more stable internet to our phones.
The new Snapdragon 865 comes with a 7NM processor and has a new KRYO 585 CPU with the latest Cortex A77 8 core CPU, which has 4 high-frequency Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, 3 high-performance Cortex A77 cores at 2.4 GHz, 1 prime A77 core clocked at 2.84 GHz. This new Cortex A77 core will improve performance and power efficiency by 25%.
The new ADRENO 650 GPU also comes with a 25% performance boost over the ADRENO 640 on 855 chipsets. 865 brings the 2nd gen X55 5G modem. This modem supports all the frequency bands.1. MilimeterWave 2.SUB-6 3.TDD/FDD 4.SA/NSA. Most importantly, this new processor brings the 5th Gen AI engine, which is two times powerful with a new tensor accelerator, which should give some blazing AI performance.
Our thoughts on the upcoming line-up of OnePlus!
We think that the OnePlus 7T pro was a real game-changer in terms of its design and display. We loved it so much that edge to edge display without notch or punch hole looked stunning, but again we have to keep in mind that if we want pop-up cameras, then we will have to face the price hikes cause it adds so many moving parts which makes it a little bit costlier.
On Paper, spec-wise, all three phones look promising, and we can tell is that it will crush the market. One more thing OnePlus knows how to improve user experience by providing regular OS updates to its users, and we are pretty sure that OnePlus will never disappoint us.
OnePlus is also planning to launch smartwatches and wireless earphones soon. Let’s see what’s more coming from OnePlus this year.
We saw OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro on the amazon affiliate page, but there were no signs of OnePlus 8 Lite, so we are hoping that OnePlus will launch this device separately.
One more important thing to keep in mind is that the Mobile World Congress has been canceled by the coronavirus impact. Thus we might see an online launch for these products by OnePlus. We have covered all aspects of LG V60 for more info click here.
